ミシガン州デトロイト出身のドリュー・ディー・フォー。「21世紀のジェリー・リー・ルイス」を連想させるドリュー・ディー・フォーの歌とピアノは、ジャンプ・ナンバーやロックンロールからブルーズ、ウォーキング・テンポのメロディアスな作品など、その音楽は留まるところを知らない。少しかすれた彼の声もソウルフルなヴォーカルとしてリスナーを魅了する。ここにあるのは甘ったれた少女趣味のピアノの弾き語りではない。打楽器としてのピアノ本来の姿がある。
ドリュー・ディー・フォーは独学でピアノを取得した。彼はピアノの他にギター、フィドル、マンドリン、ドラムなども演奏。そのキャリアは彼が11歳のときにまで遡る。弟マークとともに「アマデウス」というバンドを結成。アマデウスは9年間の活動後、マークの急逝によって終止符が打たれ、ドリューは新たなバンド活動よりもソロ・アーティストとしての道を選んだ。全米中のピアノ・バーをくまなく周り、2007年には初のヨーロッパを敢行。そしてまたアメリカ、ヨーロッパ、アメリカ・・・・年半分以上をピアノと向かい合う夜を過ごしている。そして2008年秋、ピアノ・バーといえば夜景がキレイなホテルのラウンジを想像してしまう日本で、ドリュー・ディー・フォーのはじめての熱く男臭いツアーが行われた。
